Directly support the development of 4 Ukrainian artists

MAPA is thrilled to invite four talented Ukrainian students from Kyiv's renowned pantomime and circus school to join our Summer Academy. Mime holds a deep tradition in Ukraine, dating back to Soviet times when it served as a powerful tool for evading censorship. Today, it continues to be an essential art form for expressing the inexpressible.

For decades, MAPA has fostered cultural exchange between Dutch and Ukrainian mime artists, beginning in the 1980s. In light of current challenges, we believe it is more important than ever to sustain this meaningful collaboration. But we need your support to make it happen!

We are launching a crowdfunding campaign to cover travel and living expenses for these young artists during their time at the MAPA Summer Academy. Your contribution will help them refine their artistic skills and create unique solo performances during our workshop, Procession of Icons. These performances will be shared with the local audience at Studio MAPA NL in Haarlem before being brought back to Ukraine.

Due to current travel restrictions for men, all four students are female. By supporting their journey, you contribute to preserving and enriching Ukraine's cultural heritage during these trying times.
